Offence - Types of Offence - Law
Offence: Any act of omission of DOs and commission of DON'T's results into offence/wrong which entails punishment and/or penalty. There are two main types of Offences:
- Civil
- Criminal
- Civil - Plaintiff vs Defendant
- Criminal - State vs Accused
- Criminal cases can be classified under two main categories:
- Less Serious - Compoundable and Non-Cognizable
- More Serious - Non-Compoundable and Cognizable
